If you’ve seen Givenchy’s Fall-Winter 2014 collection, then you already know creative director Riccardo Tisci’s recent affinity for all things basketball. Fitting then, that the brand’s new watch, the Seventeen, looks to Tisci’s latest show for athletic inspiration, playing up the collection’s graphic lines to create a truly standout timepiece. The matte black face and casement appear caged, surrounded by a continuous thread of gold. The design calls to mind the lines of a basketball court, as well as the fenced-in circular runway on which Tisci’s tough models walked way back in January. An interchangeable nylon strap lends the streetwear-inspired timepiece a futuristic edge. It’ll add an element of sport to any look, but in a way that’s not obvious or underdressed. It’s an appropriately luxe match for investment-worthy fall pieces like a suede bomber or biker jeans. Only 500 were made, so if you’re feeling it, make a fast break and hit up Givenchy before it’s too late.
