With an instantly recognizable design language and logo, Palm Angels has continued to merge Italian fashion with the American skate scene through continuously released collections. Really hitting this nail on the head, Palm Angels’ collaboration with Vans, being teased way back in March on the runway, is finally set to receive a release.
Included in the collection are three silhouettes, the Vans Old Skool, Sk8-Hi, and Sk8-Mid, that come in strikingly similar colorways. Each silhouette remains true to their OG design in terms of its shape with the addition of Palm Angels branding and premium materials across each sneaker. An aged, worn-in effect is added to the sude and canvas upper with the Sk8-Hi getting dressed in red canvas on its front half while the back half comes in a cream, white, and orange combo. Atop the Vans stripe, “Palm Angels” branded tape covers the tried-and-true logo. These same design cues find their way to both the Sk8-Mid and Old Skool with black and green being featured on the front halves suede overlays respectively. Underfoot, the midsole and outsole receives an aged yellowed effect on its semi-translucent construction while the outsole houses a checkerboard pattern visible underneath.
The Palm Angels x Vans Collection, including the Vans Sk8-Hi, Vans Sk8-Mid, and Vans Old Skool, is set to release through Palm Angles on September 27th online while a worldwide release is set to go down on October 1st through Vans and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price ranges between $150 and $160 depending on the silhouette.
